Also in between bites hold it flat or upside down instead of vertical to prevent gravity from making the ingredients droop out.

With extra messy burgers, consider supporting the backside of the burger even more. Pinching the opposite end of the burger between little and ring fingers Basically like the image, but moving the fingers closer to the middle

It is not 100%, but my burger eating got infinitely better ever since I saw this image a couple of years ago. I saw the meme and thought if this one, so glad tou delivered this wisdom to others.

This is what I do, but it's not about this. The stuff exits the other side because pressure on the top and bottom from biting into it squeezes the contents. It can't go into your mouth because your teeth are in the way.

Exacerbated when the burger contains slippery stuff e.g. lots of mayo and tomato.
