Isn't the Grinch mammalian, though?

I doubt he's a monotreme, they're very uncommon. And I believe monotremes are the only mammals without a distinct anus.

Some still do have outside of them, sometimes as a variation. Sometimes human girls born with a cloaca, but modified into normal body parts ASAP due to potential issues with infections and continence.
