I wanna take photos like that! 😯

I'm shooting with a Sony APS-C camera and a sigma f2.8 18-50mm lens.

This was shot with natural light and no special equipment (besides the camera). I did a little work in Lightroom (lightweight Photoshop) but this is mostly as shot.

I got pretty lucky with the light here though.

Edit: I should add that I deleted about 70 photos from this mornings session. I shoot a lot and pray to the autofocus gods.

Very impressive!

You totally can!! Got to get out there and try taking lots of pics. Take a hundred pics and you might get a handful of decent ones (totally normal).

Of course (and you may know already) it helps to have some ideas about color, composition, texture contrast and such to help you decide how to take the best picture for a given situation. There are lots of ways to take a meh pic of a bee on a flower but also many ways to take kickass pics of the same.

With this pic as an example of what works, the composition, the depth of field, the lighting, the contrasting colors, the mix of textures all work really well together here.

Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know but hopefully it helps someone idk.

I love photography. I should really get back to it :)

Yeah the composition on this one is great isn’t it. Really like the blurred flowers in the background giving a sense that the environment continues outside the frame

No need to apologize. You are very kind to give those advices.

I'm very new to photography. So I take all the advices I can get. Photography is a huge universe, and it is very easy to get overwhelmed.

My best bee photo is this one: https://lemmy.world/post/961355 I think its main issue is the lack of sharpness and detail in the bee.

My setup is a Canon M50 and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8.

Wow love that bee pic! I find it really hard getting the focus perfect in that kind of shot. How do you like the Canon? I have a Rebel EOS T1 we got when my daughter was born that still works great.

My Canon M50 is small, which makes me want to take it with me more. Image quality is not top tear I think, but it is a very easy system for a beginner.
