According to the English language, one would take the "We have betrayed its gentle curiousity" as including everyone.
Also, when the commenter uses "Well if you didn't", as directed at who they were replying to, which was me.
It's weird that you've just randomly jumped in guns blazing without reading the article or the comment above.
