Hello new Lemmy friends!
Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so here’s a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.
The woman we’re discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (I’d argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you don’t know who he is or what he did). She’s the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that she’s Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising aren’t as clear (and where they are she’s disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those who’ve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone who’s tried to speak out.
Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like we’re just “shitting on her” the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that she’s hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.

Peace out 🍋! Mommy’s gone again and really doesn’t care about JK - she has her own life to live after the trauma of staying home with your siblings. This woman knows nothing about balance and the tightrope most working mothers walk while they work and also support their children. She has the privilege of saying no so she can be there for important times in her child’s life but has chosen to dig her heels in and believes this is ‘her’ time so the answer must be yes. I really believe that making the decision to bring a human into this world is a sacred pact and it’s a duty to do whatever you can to make this new person feel as safe and secure as possible. When you’ve made that choice you know that you’re not going to come first for a very long time and live accordingly. If you’re unwilling to make that commitment then don’t have another baby!
Also, how deep is her trauma from staying home with siblings? She wasn't at home most nights. As soon as Dad was home from work, and they'd all eaten the butter noodles she made, Sarah was off in the family van to meet guys in the alleyway behind Food Basics for sex.
I feel like this is specific enough to believe!

I can’t believe that loser Shame tolerates her bullshit. I mean he’s no prize but does he think his wife is some celebrity? And to the blind idiot followers - open your eyes! This self centred spoiled brat is failing her children in every way. To the dickhead construction company who gifted her a designer kitchen - was it worth it? Maybe next time donate your gift to a family in need or to parents who will appreciate such a beautiful kitchen to cook meals for their family and sit down for some quality time. Ughhh, I’m ranting
Shane is not a bystander; he engineered this. Without him, Sarah Nicole Landry would never have been able to scale her "business". Shane had the keys to system1. He had access to the operational scaffolding that turned her delusions of grandeur into a marketable fraud. His co-conspirator role was necessary for the survival of his own ego. He needed to be the rescuer and the big man. Probably because Sarah played Shane against her ex-husband and claimed she was a victim of abuse. Shame has the same rotted brain Sarah has. A healthy mind would bend under the weight of guilt. But there’s no guilt here, only rationalizations and entitlement. The whole family has the same fucked up brain. They function as an echo chamber of pathology. Recall Nana Kimi lashing out on Reddit, defending child exploitation with the chilling refrain: “Everyone does it.” The same excuse for plagiarism, for manipulation, for theft of identity. They are recyclers of lies…propped up by a network of sycophants, social climbers, and opportunists who use mimicry, not talent. What binds them is their shame. Shane’s shame of his origins, Sarah’s shame of her ordinariness. Together, they built their mini empire of counterfeit narratives. Empire’s collapse. One day, a story will be told about this family that will leave them staring into the abyss of their own narcissism.
Thank you for saying this - it’s so well thought out. I believe, if her numbers keep dropping, she’s pulling another health scare out of her bag of tricks.

I can’t remember how old the eldest was during the traumatic and dramatic flight from the marriage over to mom and dad’s place. She don’t think she was very old so her oppressive life of being chained to the home didn’t last very long - I think Birdie time has been going on for a long time now. She’s always chosen what she wants over what’s best for the kids
How any mother that follows her finds her inspirational or someone to look up to as a mother is truly out of their mind. If anything she is teaching me how NOT to be a mother. She is anything but a mother. I can’t wait for the day L is old enough to not want anything to do with her anymore. Clearly B and J want nothing to do with her because they’ve become nonexistent.
Like imagine watching your mom repack her suitcase every week to go on yet another trip and leave you behind? And now to Disney without the actual kids? Pathetic. I hate her.

These trips are all 100% optional. If she can do a day of reels & a post of an event it’s lazy “content”. But she doesn’t need to be at any of them, she’s choosing getting dressed up over her family. She’s no one’s spokes person and now matter important she tries to appear she’s one in 100s or 1000s who are attending events so those company’s appear important. Pandora doesn’t share her posts, Apple didn’t. And Kn*x - those look like pity shares to me. In 2025 no one put her name on their products or clothing because there is no return attached to bird 💩.
