more power to you. don't get me wrong I think it's great keeping old hardware going but I have access to a large cache of old hardware (at work we have a defunct computer museum. More Apple II's then anyone could want) and it's generally not worth fixing because there's always another collecting dust just around the corner.
But if you were going to use this old ps2 with a ps2->usb dongle for a daily driver it's probably not worth it after soldering and cosmetic detail
