Y'all really want some trouble, all of your posts will be connected to your names due to rapidly increasing availability and power of surveilance algorithms and maybe in the next year you will lose your job because of it. I openly say - out of all the people murdered last week, which might be getting into 3 digits, Kirk is not the one I care the most about, but even if I was celebrating I would not be so open about it

Yeah, but you're way too cool for the rest of us.

I might sound condescending, but it's not because I consider myself smarter, just that I genuinely am scared - there is so much more direct and open violence in the global north, Trump just straight up ordering death sentences and sending others to concentration camps, but am european, aight. I got to worry about the new chat control project scanning through everything I post. And even if it won't get through, how far are we from an AI scraping the internet to connect all your big sites accounts to your name any time you apply for a job or anything else? Am I stupid for considering it an existential threat?

Maybe we should do something, before it's too late?

Yup and I was tryin, but that don't mean chat control won't be realized

If they fire us for what we post on lemmy then MAYBE we missed the mark of when it was time to act for our freedom.
