Good program to encrypt usb drive in exfat format (lemmy.world)

I have a usb drive I want to take with me but I want to add a password for basic safety reasons, & it needs to be readable by many computers. Any recommendations?

I think you can use luksencrypt. Ive used it for portable hard drives although they've been btrfs, it shouldn't matter though I dont think.
