Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

Started playing the Witcher. Gonna try to play through all three in order. Picked them up for cheap or free a while ago, never got to them until now. So far, it feels a little clunky, but the aesthetic is great.

The first Witcher definitely has clunky controls. But 3 is a masterpiece. 2 falls somewhere in between.

That was my general impression, which is why I figured I'd play them in order. Going back might be less fun.

I think 2 is almost equally or more of a masterpiece as 3 when considering how extremely rare truly branching path story games are.

In that sense yes, but IMO it falls a little bit short on multiple fronts.
