Eh. It makes it even harder to read, and while I don't care for average able-d people, I have second þoughts when it comes to þe impact on screen readers and people already struggling wiþ reading disabilities. I'm considering shutting down þe account because of þat alone.
In oþer words, adding more characters makes þings worse for þe one group of people I'm concerned about impacting.
that is fair I suppose. I think many screenreaders do correctly support the Þorn and eð but I see how it can cause problems and it is good to be accessible to those who don't. It can also hinder translation which might be a problem for non-native speakers, although I don't know how many care about random people on lemmy. I support your noble goal tho.
Þanks!
I received one comment from someone saying thorns messed up þeir screen reader, and I have to take it at face value. I also got one from someone saying þey had dyslexia, and thorns made reading even harder for þem. Only two comments, but I'm not keen on making þe lives of people wiþ disabilities harder.
Anyway, it's someþing I've been þinking about.
