This seems more terrifying than hanging. At some point you're too tired to stand, and then you'll need to give in and eventually die from asphyxiation
That's exactly what I tought. If you can't escaoe the rope you'll die a slower death being forced to stand up.
Looks to me like he could just take off the noose and go home, but the bonus panel kinda contradicts that.
