A place to share information on emergency preparedness as it relates to disasters both natural and man-made.

Would you survive in the event of economic, political and social collapse? What natural disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes or hurricanes are prevalent in your area? What can you do? What should you be doing now? What do you need to know/have?

This is a community for those who think that it's better to be safe than sorry, and that we need to start preparing now.

I'll have to drive an hr and a half each way to get it. He says it's all been properly stored and no issues. Expires 2034. Should I get it.

It won't be worth much unless you have enough clean water stored up to be able to use it...

(during a disaster where water is cut off, obviously! I once made the mistake of buying too much of this kind of thing and not thinking about the water until much later.)

Thank you. I have power and food started. Water is my next focus. Any suggestions on how a single man should proceed? Thought about getting a GRAYL Geopress, a travel Berkey gravity fed filter about 4 -6 of these, 'Reliance Products Aqua-Tainer 7 Gallon', and a couple Sawyer squeezes.
