Ah, I should explain. But correct, I shouldn't really include that.
I mentioned the veganism bit because they try and lecture me on my eating habits in addition to lecturing me on vaccinations.
They'd often bring up diet while we game and then when Covid hit their comments flipped over to anti-vax.
So they are annoying and imposing of their beliefs on others, there's plenty of those in both aisles ๐
Yes, and it gets a bit much at times.
I think that sometimes it comes from good intentions, as in they think they are helping by suggesting a healthy way to live to me, but it is 100% unsolicited and comes across as condescending. This pair are the kind of vegans that give them a bad name and doing more damage than good. If I had questions and wanted advice, I'd ask. I don't want to be talked down to.
I have nothing against vegans and veganism, it's their choice, but they should also respect my choices and not try and guilt me into their way of life. They have told me before that I cannot like animals if I am not vegan.
They've sent me pages and pages of 'information' to me when I mentioned I was heading to bed early because I was tired. Oh! An opportunity for them to lecture me! And a lot of what they send me is never information that has been studied, peer reviewed and widely accepted. It's always some some random YouTuber or blogger that echos their ideas and ideals.
So I have been getting bombarded with anti-vax topics from them as well as veganism.
They do also push organic on me, which I do somewhat agree is better for you, but also not everyone can afford to buy only organic food and products. Also, some modified crops are required to survive certain environments and without them I am sure many additional people would have starved by now without these crops.
Yeah, they sounds exhausting. At some point I would block them...
They've... changed. Another friend of ours have noticed it as well and has been distancing himself.
I don't keep in constantly contact with them these days, but I'll play games with them at times but I share zero information with them. Seems like I am opening myself up for a lecture.
Sometimes they'll ask me what I had for dinner and I just reply with 'Noooooooooope!'.
It feels like a trap when they ask me that, so I refuse to answer. Not great having to be on constant alert around friends.
I play a lot more with our mutual friend now, he is quite chill.
