We had a big thing where we were trying to replicate r/diy or r/transsurgeries from reddit on a separate 3rd instance, Marcie got like 15 people in the same chat who were interested in working on it then ada pulled the plug on it basically when they weren't all going to do 100% exactly as she said essentially. Oh well 🤷♀️
Yeah, the main issue was she wasn’t prioritizing the right things. A trans surgery comm would require a lot more privacy than a normal comm. we were proposing one that would function as an isolated comm which we could add people more carefully to after some basic screening process but she wanted it to be pretty open in terms of federation.
She wanted to prioritize growth over privacy and that was the biggest issue
Her idea was never going to work while hexbear and blahaj was defederated, on a technical level.
It would be nice if we could just whitelist specific comms between us, like trans mutual aid/support comms or relatively light-hearted comms like /c/cute (shameless plug).
