I wish we didn’t elect Trump either. It’s like everyone forgot how racist and terrible his first term was. He was very good at uniting the world against him.
Not Trump should have been good enough
I really appreciate your condescending tone.
First of all, let's put this into perspective here. The election of Harris or the re-election of Biden would have meant the continuance of the Republic. The signs were there before Trump was re-elected and to ignore them is, to put it lightly, shortsighted. Now that Trump has indeed been re-elected, we can be more specific:
At no point did I mention that Biden, Harris, or any of the Democrats were good candidates. Neither did I mention that I am a Democrat or a Republican. For the record, I don't have a party. So again, I really appreciate your condescending tone. But, the reality is, not voting is also an affirmative choice to affect the election. By not showing up to the polls, you have indicated your support or indifference to the listed points above. Like it or not, you are responsible. It's not "Trump", by the way, it's everything his administration has done to erode the rights of Americans. This would not have happened under a Biden or Harris administration.
Your attitude is also "I'll let the world go to shit if I can't get better". It is sophomoric at best. Nobody said that the people could not continue to fight for improvements under a Biden or Harris administration - we can. But, llike science and all things reasonable, we have to choose the best option we have while we continue to find better. And Harris was the best option we had at the time.
Or, perhaps in your language:
Do you find Gaza, the economy, and the state of health care better now?
