Into the Wild è stato pubblicato in tutto il mondo il 17 settembre 2007. È stato pubblicato su CD, sia in formato standard che Digipak, e su LP. Le stampe CD dell'album sono state pubblicate dalla J Records e le versioni LP dalla Vinyl Films, un'etichetta discografica di proprietà del regista Cameron Crowe, amico di Vedder... I read the book but haven't seen the movie. It's great in how detailed and thorough the storytelling is, but it's kind of infuriating that he walked out there without a map or a compas just to starve himself to death.
