You would more or less freeze the subscriber count at 48 it the community got hidden. New people wouldn't see any content if they got a direct link to the community or to a post, unless they subscribed. And searching for the community also wouldn't work.

I meant hide it from local/all.

That's not possible in lemmy currently. It's either full hiding (so hiding from local/all, searches and the community unless they subscribe) or not hiding

Theoretically could be added in a pr though

That's not what I understood from dessalines@lemmy.ml comment here.

I thought this is possible now, although it may require setting this in the database directly.
