The real question about the US Election is do they get democracy sausages?
I'm not sure they'll even have democracy much longer, sausages are probably pushing it.
They haven't ever had it. Current system is more or less an oligarchy, it's just called democracy so as not to scare people.

There is reason for it. Back in the days where travelling to a polling place was still a major event politicians used to ply people with food and alcohol to buy their votes. It often got quite out of control and was seen as a threat to democracy.
