@stefan@stefanbohacek.online Welcome to GoToSocial! Are you moving all your bots to one instance? I know you have quite a few!
Up to now, GtS has been about single user instances or small groups. Very interested to see how it does with more traffic in and out.
@box464@mastodon.social Thank you!
Yes, I'm just experimenting now, but my idea is to run my own GTS server with all my bots on it.
Performance is definitely my biggest concern. I'd rather not have to spend even more money on my personal side projects, which, outside of a few bucks/month in donations to Botwiki generate no income.
@box464 I'm still very early in the process, I just set up the server, now I'm looking into updating https://stefans-creative-bots.glitch.me. This project uses a Mastodon node.js library, and even though GTS has a great compatibility with Mastodon's API, the library itself is not handling things correctly.
Now that I bring this up, maybe I can just look into opening an issue on GitHub, or forking it, it's probably something minor.
@stefan@stefanbohacek.online @box464 Iirc the mastodon api node library is kinda old and doesn’t seem to be actually maintained. There’s a lot of outdated and vulnerable dependencies
@Alien_Sunset@dice.camp Ah, you're right, bummer.
I'll have to look into alternatives. Thank you for the heads-up!

Meant to say earlier, but if you find something better, please lmk, id love to switch away to something better for colorbot
@Alien_Sunset@dice.camp Definitely will keep you posted!
@stefan@stefanbohacek.online I’m sure they would appreciate it. A new use case for GtS is limited federation circles. It is getting new features to manage that and means a need to audit performance for larger user counts.
