Has anyone else noticed how prevalent Hexbear posters have suddenly become? Maybe sometime last week I noticed nearly every political post had at least one long thread of Hexbear users that do nothing but repeat CCP talking points while waving anyway anything even remotely reliable as Western propaganda. That or getting all excited about trolled libs. The way they tell it, you'd think everything from DW, to Fox, to Propublica, to straight up AP News articles, are all written by the same people.

Not to mention, their info on the Fediverse observer is either straight up wrong or there's some serious botting going on. According to that, the instance is less than a month old, yet somehow they already have one of the largest, most active userbases, along with far and away the most comments of any instance.

Seems to me like Lemmygrad on steroids. Considering we defederated from them, seems like a no-brainer to block Hexbear as well.

So glad this thread could become such a perfect microcosm of why we need to defederate.

You aren't a "side" you're a small group of angry, useful idiots and bots. If you want to talk about genocide, let's talk about the current genocide the CCP is carrying out.

I'm not going to argue with you about Xijiang because I'm not as educated as some of my comrades on the subject, you're wrong about it, but whatever

But this...

bots

For the fucking 1000th time since federation why would anyone bot this tiny ass site. Why would it be a useful investment for China or Russia to do this Please actually go to our instance and look at our post histories. In mine I have a rant talking about weird shit that happened in an American Pie movie. We're just normal people with views on geopolitics you aren't used to. None of us are bots. Its pure liberal solipism to write off anyone who counters the prevailing liberal narrative on geopolitics of being bots.

useful idiots

Its so fucking rich having liberals who live IN THE WEST and are useful idiots for western propaganda call us this. Think about it logically for a second, who is more likely to be a useful idiot? The person living in the west and saying the shit the western media tells them to say about bad evil enemy countries when they have been PROVEN to be lying about bad evil enemy countries before (Iraq, Vietnam, Korea) or the guy going against the prevailing narrative in his country? Hmm?

You aren't a "side"

We are the far left of the political spectrum, and we're only a small insignificant group if you only count white westerners.

I don't know what I'm talking about but you're definitely wrong about it.

Great way to start your comment, so far 0/10.

Nobody would bother making bots on Lemmy

Do you think it's hard to make a bot? I suspect it's WAY easier here because at least the awful corporate sites have experience removing fake accounts.

I'm not a liberal, you're just throwing generalizations at a straw man you made. And the rest of your post is just more generalization, like assuming my sex, nationality, and ability to think critically.

If you're actually not a bot, pull your head out of your ass.

If there were actual bots on lemmy they would be selling you cialis and viagra, THINK chico

The Kremlin and CCP have more power and leeway than a pharma company. Use your BRAIN amigo

[-] CriticalResist8@hexbear.net 43 points 1 year ago

That's funny cause I moderate lemmygrad and we used to get a lot of bot account requests for online "pharmacies"

[-] autismdragon@hexbear.net 38 points 1 year ago

The Krelmin and "CCP" do not actually have more power and leeway in the west than western corporations and this should be obvious to you.
