Doesn't feel like a win Piastri deserves.

Well the first two stints were brilliant from him. Yeah there will always be this argument that he was not fast enough but who knows what would have happened if he pitted 1st

[โ€“] t0fr@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 years ago

He was quick. But team strategy screwed him over. He should have beenn pit first. It was safe for him to do so. And he could have just let the race all the way to the end. Would have been much more satisfying

I disagree, Lando not even in contention if the team didnโ€™t undercut Piastri. Piastri deserved first service and then opportunity to maintain the lead he managed to hold (regardless of whether or not the cars make it easy to maintain a lead itโ€™s still the work he did).

If Lando thinks he deserved it today, in his own words โ€œtell him to catch me thenโ€

It's just a win that leaves a sour taste in McLaren's mouth. Either way, it's not what Piastri deserves for a first win

Doesnt feel like a win Lando deserves either. They essentially took it away from each other.

Yeah, that's true. I wouldn't want to get my first win by team orders that were necessary because of a team failure at strategy
