So, I'm just starting recording again after doing it 20 years ago and I don't have the time to really invest in structure at the moment. Instead, in my basement, I surrounded my workstation with these blankets. The sound is surprisingly good. It's considerably more quiet and there's no echo at all.

What DAWs are you using? Are you paying? I use CakeWalk. It's free and similar to software I used 20 years ago called ProTracks.
