My friend and I had this idea to create a wiki where anyone could add a story to a shared universe. The premise is that humans at some point spread out into the galaxy, but faster than light travel never happens. Instead of one government, humanity is fractured. That leads to a vast universe where almost any story can be told. The only rule is, humanity can't be completely united.

Our hope is many people can contribute whatever they can. Some may write speculative fiction, others historical "accounts" of events. Maybe you write a breakdown of the local plantlife on a planet. Either way, we add to the universe and create something together. We are hoping to get a lot of diverse perspectives.

For example, I might write about a society which uses computers to facilitate larger-scale governments where my friend from a political background may write about the laws a planet or system adopts to facilitate some unified government in their region of space. As you can see, the wiki is pretty much bare, but add your story and we'll see where it takes us.

I recently read William Gibson's Burning Chrome and at the moment i'm in the middle of the Mirrorshades Anthology. Would Love some suggestions for collections of short SF stories from one or multiple writers.

I especially enjoyed "The Gernsback Continuum" and "The Winter Market". So if you have anything similar i would be delighted.

A few years back, I discovered the long-running military scifi series that starts with On Basilisk Station by David Weber.

It's my favorite novel series now. Anyone else a fan?
