And Discord's is particularly bad. Even Windows takes its time between update checks. It's the first thing Discord does every time you launch it.

I think I use the Flatpak, and it always updated on startup. Same way I remember it updating on Windows. Of course, it would also still update through Discovery, so maybe the pre launch update was just for show

I just installed Linux on my gaming PC a few days back. Yesterday I had to update discord manually and was a bit annoyed by the process.
This comes at the exactly right time
