Not sure if this is a GOS or Firefox issue.

Go to qwant.com, type something om the form, backspace doesn't work. Same result with ebay.com.

Using GrapheneOS, built-in keyboard, Firefox 150. Tried with and without ublock origin.

I think it has been a week or so since it started.

Anyone else got this issue?

Sorry if it's the wrong place to ask.

And thanks to the GOS devs, you have saved me from so many frustrations.

Edit: so far two people in comments seem to have similar problems so it's not just me.

Edit2: seems to only happen with some sites like qwant and ddg, and only with built-in GrapheneOS keyboard.

Curious if it happens on Android

Edit3: Duckduckgo now works, removed it from list

I'm using IronFox on graphene with Heliboard as my keyboard and it's working fine, just checked.

Did you try it on qwant.com search form?

[–] TIN@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I didn't, but I have now, still works, both from qwant in my address bar and on their actual form

Starting to look it happens only with the built-in keyboard

I updated to Firefox 150 + ublock using GBoard on GrapheneOS and it's working.

I disable network access to gboard. I don't trust it.

I use the built-in "keyboard"

Oh, I changed to the in-built keyboard and summoned some real demons in quant.

The backspace key would add characters as I typed. If I held it down, it just kept adding.

I mashed out about 10 characters, a space, another character, then hit backspace.

Thank you, I haven't seen that but surely it's related.

I think I known what you're seeing but it's specific to modifying a search query on ddg for me. It works fine otherwise.

can you capture a short clip of what's happening on your side?

[–] passenger@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Exactly. Also happens on other sites like qwant. Not on google for some reason.

So I'm not alone. I think you have the exact same issue then.

I never did a capture, but the steps to reproduce are: search for something on qwant or ddg, or just type something on qwant.com search and then try backspace. Bacspace doesn't work on the search form on the page.

I've had this happen with DDG on desktop Firefox on Bazzite too but very infrequently

[–] vikingtons@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is really strange, but DDG now works propely for me with Heliboard. Modifying a search query no longer causes input to go crazy.

Are you able to confirm?

[–] passenger@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I haven't used Heliboard.

Using the built-in kb I still get the bug in qwant.com and ebay.com.

But you're right, DDG seems to have been fixed somehow.
