The Lakers player responded in part: “I hope I inspire people over there (Israel) not only to be great in sports, but to be better in general in life, hopefully someday I can make it over there,” adding that he has “heard nothing but great things” about the country.

This is actual nonsense. There is no possible justification for saying this.

At VERY best, it's the most irresponsibly ignorant statement anyone has ever made.

But there's no fucking way he hasn't heard some version of "Israel is doing genocide."

So then our options are:

He has heard bad things about Israel and is lying (the most likely case), which... what??? Why???
He has heard things that WE think are bad, but he actually thinks are great.

Fuck this guy.
