Imagine being the IT person that maintains those. Do they get to live on the superyacht on call? Or do they get serviced when he takes the yacht into the shop. These are my questions. I'm sure he knows about PCs but ain't no billionaire maintaining 15 gaming PCs himself.
I mean I guess this is better than 500 million sitting off shore bank accounts. A big part of the problem is rich people don't spend their money.

You'd think so, but not really. In terms of pollution, a mega yacht pretty much makes a private jet look like a bicycle.
He might as well just hand most of the money directly to a refinery in Cancer Alley.

True, but a bigger part of the problem is that when they DO spend it rather than pathologically hoarding it, it's often on things that are actively harmful. Such as corrupt politicians, AI nonsense, and mega yachts.
I still don't get why people go to bat for valve, despite all the anti consumer shit they regularly do.
Personally, if I had GabeN money to spend on a yacht, I would commission something similar to S/S Delphine, S/S Norrskär or / S/S Storskär, I love the classic lines of a late 1800s, early 1900s small ship.
Modern yachts/ships look so boring...
If I were a billionaire I would buy an old ass ship (forgive me IDK much about naval history) like an ironclad, retrofit it with a nuclear reactor and then full horsepower it through a yacht yard
