In short:

US President Donald Trump has described the removal of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's royal titles as a "tragic situation" for the British Crown.

Mr Trump appeared to suggest the renewed pressure on the family caused by recent revelations relating to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal were unfair.

What's next?

The former prince will move to Sandringham Estate, one of the royal residences of King Charles.

Weird that he always seems to have empathy for alleged pedophiles and abusers, damn near exclusively

Pedophile sad that pedophile faced consequences for being a pedophile.

So he's not really facing consequences, by the sound of it. No longer Duke of York? Wow, that's harsh 😐 I guess suffering the indignity of being called out for disgusting crimes is punishment enough for some reason?

Let's remember the real victim here:

Ms Roberts Giuffre had for years alleged Epstein forced her to have sex with Mr Mountbatten Windsor at a London apartment in 2001 when she was 17.

The former prince has long denied the claims, but paid millions in an out-of-court settlement in 2022 after acknowledging her suffering as a victim of sex trafficking.

Last month's memoir saw Ms Roberts Giuffre allege that the 65-year-old acted as if he believed "having sex with me was his birthright".

Ms Roberts Giuffre, who died by suicide in April aged 41, was one of hundreds of women and girls who accused Epstein of abusing them.

The US president has also distanced himself from the allegations about his relationship with Epstein, saying the pair fell out because the financier "stole" young women, including Ms Roberts Giuffre, from Mr Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.

I can't imagine watching that level of injustice happening, she suffered most of her life and her rapists didn't even suffer a moment of retribution in the end. Absolutely disgusting people. How does someone commit these kinds of acts and get elected to leadership by millions of people? Do they really not see?

They really don't, this isn't something that is presented on Fox or other rightwing media. It's barely on more neoliberal media.

Amazing how often Donald Trump seems to have empathy with pedophiles. He thinks empathy is a toxic and woke concept, except when it's in relation to pedophiles. Huh.

Yes, surely the worst thing to have come out of the Epstein affair.
