Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding non-YSK posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-YSK posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

If you are a member, sympathizer or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

For further explanation, clarification and feedback about this rule, you may follow this link.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- The majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Unless included in our Whitelist for Bots, your bot will not be allowed to participate in this community. To have your bot whitelisted, please contact the moderators for a short review.

Rule 11- Posts must actually be true: Disiniformation, trolling, and being misleading will not be tolerated. Repeated or egregious attempts will earn you a ban. This also applies to filing reports: If you continually file false reports YOU WILL BE BANNED! We can see who reports what, and shenanigans will not be tolerated.

If you file a report, include what specific rule is being violated and how.

Is this a shitpost? I feel like this is a shitpost for a joke everyone is in on except me.

I don't get it either, but the 3 millilightseconds thing is (I think) a reference to the classic 500-mile email story.

Jeff & Seattle was about this post: https://sh.itjust.works/post/43471235

Basically, how many years does one have to work minimum wage to earn Jeff Bezos's net worth.

I need answers!

When doing some research here is a list of similar calculator apps that have some advanced features like qalculate, but may or may not be on all platforms. Nothing against qalculate - just for completeness.

Also available straight in GNOME's search.

Looks cool!

But I gotta ask: what is the deal with your font making all the I's and L's bold? :(

I'm using Termux on android and I guess that it's compensating for smaller screen?

[–] Malasaur@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've been using Termux but that's awesome. Thanks.

Oh boy is it junk though. It just supports calculation, not conversion or anything fancy

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It supports conversion. It's almost all I use it for.

Also check out a similar one: SpeedCrunch.

I just want the 6 $ / TB storage, thanks.

qalculate is really nice. I even use it on Windows Enterprise installs that normally only have the old Windows 8(?) calculator included since the Microsoft Store isn't a thing. It's a huge upgrade compared to that POS.

Qalculate was one of the few Windows apps that I didn't have to stop using when I switched to Linux.

It really shined when I used it as a field technician in building automation because it can convert all sorts of units of measurement of pressure, mass, velocity, etc. and we work in both metric and imperial in Canada.

Of course, it's also a perfectly serviceable calculator for simple stuff too. I like the history feature a lot.

Already been using it, my favourite desktop calculator!

[–] napkin2020@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago
