You're comparing someone's net worth to someone else's disposable income, which isn't a fair comparison. What you are saying still holds true mostly but it's best to compare apples to apples.
Median net worth is closer to $200k. So just multiplying by 3, that’s closer to $1000. But median net worth for that age range is over 400k, so maybe like $2500.
