Mobile OSM is a bit like that when it hasn't downloaded the tiles for the regions you don't usually go to.

Imagine not downloading the entire world (in case one takes a wrong turn somewhere and end up on the other side of the world) to a dedicated map app.

What do you do if you end up on the other side of the world by accident and there's no internet available?

What do you do?

This is why I've also downloaded nautical maps with depth indicators for the seven seas and then some. You know, just in case I go down. No internet under water.

Have they never left that circle ever?

This has never crossed my mind. I wouldn’t mind an irl open world with an open map option and fog of war.

Edit: grammar error

Why can't they just do it like the indexer and work on it like hyperlinks? Blue for not seen and purple for where you've been. Done.

Yes Alex, can I buy a pixel?

I'm in, can I do this now? I'm very far from home at the moment

I stumbled upon someone online who was making just that. Then they dropped it. Don't remember who it was, but I looked for them from time to time on Nitter (prolly had on browser bookmarks)
