It actually works pretty well, you just have to wait a solid 5 seconds after using it and pray to Baahl that it returns

The worst is when you don't notice right away and then have to backtrack for half an hour to find it again. The Pike is so damn inconsistent, I hope someone fixes it with a mod.

Only had actual problems with it at the final boss, but yeah I totally feel that.

I did find out that if you end your turn too fast it will just stay there. Sometimes you've gotta wait like 5-6 seconds before it'll pop back. Shit is evil.
