Maybe I’ll warm up to it over time, but I worry that this is gonna be a Persona Q deal where it’s a prequel that can’t have any impact on the series out of fear of overwriting the continuity, especially since this was specifically made for the 40th anniversary of the series.

While Toei hasn’t shared many details about Daima, it did release a new trailer that makes it seem like the show might take a bit of a meta route with a villain aware of Goku’s lengthy history across different Dragon Ball anime and manga.

Plot details or not, the animation featured in the trailer is gorgeous, and Toriyama’s involvement is a sign that Dragon Ball Daima’s story might pack a bit more of a punch than GT’s did when it premieres sometime next fall.

@Hydrogen any word on whether this takes place in the same world as DB/Z/S?

I'm guessing the chibi style means its a separate universe but it could also be seen as merely an aesthetic that doesn't reflect the actual appearance of the characters, or maybe like when Goku was a kid in GT.

I'm hoping that this isn't going to be a replacement for super, the super manga's been excellent and so have the last two movies. I really want Super to continue, it's not time for it to end yet.
