What are you trying to learn? How to shoot a particular style, competition, hunting, home defense, etc.? Are you just looking to know your way around a platform and effectively hit a target consistently? As others have said, classes will help massively with that.
If you're looking for a crash course, start with "always, never, never". Always treat the gun like it's loaded. Never put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to fire. Never point the weapon at something you don't intend to shoot.
Getting better at firearms is mostly about practice, I've found.
Not sure yet, I mostly want to learn how to shoot. But I would like to learn home / self defense, also for fun because i like guns, and also maybe hunting to. As for what ill be shooting, probably bolt action or leaver action rifles like a Lee en field, because being in Australia, they are very common and also getting hold of a pistol is near impossible and means a very big hassle, with all the laws around it. As much as i would like a pistol, a bolt action rifle is probably the best way at the moment.
Also just a side note its amazing that there is a leftist / non conservative space to talk about guns.
