The Irish need to build a wall or something. And this is coming from an American.
While I get what you are saying I would argue that the Americans that are leaving and becoming immigrants aren't the shitty Americans that would never think of such a thing.
Two ways you get to leave this country “easily”:
unattached with little to lose. Go work abroad and establish residency. Cost of the plane ticket to get there.
lots of money. Buy a golden visa.
For the rest of us it’s a major undertaking with lots of sacrifice, upheaval, risk, and difficulty.
(Yes, this is a simplification and there are exceptions, but for the most part this is true)
You forgot "marry a foreigner".
People get married all the time and emigrate to their spouses' country of origin.
