Article is linking to the venue page https://www.grandcasinoarena.com/events/detail/dave-chappelle-1

Forgetting about it being Chapelle specifically for a second, idk how to feel about promoting a comedy show in such a manner. It's interesting that a casino is willing to post this, given the vindictive nature of the federal government. But seems overall exploitative to be promoing any show that isn't a benefit solely by virtue signalling.

Grand Casino Arena is publicly owned by the City of St Paul Minnesota. Grand Casino purchased the naming rights of the venue in 2025. It was previous named 'Xcel Energy Center'.

The venue is also used as a hockey arena for the Minnesota Frost and Minnesota Wild hockey teams.

Government subsidizing the stadium of sporting teams is sometimes considered a scam. The premise is that the sporting events will bring tourism into the city so that the city receives more trade.

It's interesting that a casino is willing to post this,

The casino doesn't own that website or the arena. The casino payed money to name the building as part of an advertising deal. It's like a sponsorship. The building is not a casino. I don't think the Grand Casino has any actual control over who performs at the building.

The stadium is owned by the City Government. The website is operated by some company called 'Saint Paul Arena Company'.
