Well, it does make the villain more hateable.
I thought he was perfect in Bladerunner 2049. He's got creepy narcissist down.
I liked him in Fight Club.
He was the albino dude that Edward Norton destroys because he is jealous of himself. If every movie cast Leto as a guy to just get his ass kicked by the protagonist with zero dialogue, that would be perfect.
I distinctly recall a calming, satisfying feeling washing over me the first time I watched that scene. Like something was right with this world. 🤌🏼
Yes, but only because that role required just aesthetics and posing; under a good director even the worst actor seems ok.
I'm of the opinion that he was pretty much just playing himself
