Ok, I'm weird, I know... but I can't quite get over my little bit of excitement after installing @postmarketos on an old phone (OnePlus6T).

The thing now runs Linux, as well as Waydroid (no Google) so I can run Android Apps from F-droid.

I managed to set up a virtual environment in #Python and install and run #jupyterlab

All on an old phone! My BT keyboard also just works, so typing this post in Fedilab on said old phone is a breeze!
Love #linux and the #opensource community!

did you use a prebuilt image or went the pmbootstrap route?

you can also try mobian, installs super easy. I find it easier to get around in as I don't have to use the awkward alpine structure. I swap em every couple months or so to be up to date on progress.

@glitching
I used a pre-built image as it was my first attempt. I did try the Plasma Mobile and the Ubuntu touch versions, then stuck with phosh for now. But I might do another flash to try more things. (Always a bit reluctant to delete the progress I made before... ๐Ÿ˜…) I'll have a look at Mobian too!
