I've had this kind of conversation with my wife over the past few years
She constantly asks ... 'are you OK?' ... and over the years, I've grown a bit annoyed by the question so I've started to answer ... 'No, I'm not OK'
And if anyone is concerned about what kind of relationship we have ... I love her to the moon and back and she knows it ... we've been together for over 30 years and neither of us are leaving ... no matter if we're OK or not.
My go to is generally "I will be" because it's true over a long enough timespan I guess.
That sounds like a neat way to respond ... I'll try that next time
