Tudor, speaking in his post-match press conference, insists that he did not hear, nor was he affected by the boos that were heard inside the stadium.

“I came back inside immediately,” Tudor told the press after full-time on Sunday.

Instead, Tudor went on to give a tactical explanation of what he saw on the pitch.

When asked about Kenan Yildiz playing slightly wider than usual, Tudor said: “We want to swap him and Cambiaso a bit, to leave the one-on-one against Saelemaekers. He and Cambiaso often have neat exchanges between themselves. We did some interesting things over there in the first half, when things were still organised.”

“I thought he was tired, as well as Conceicao and David. I didn’t want to give the signal that we wanted to hold back by taking them off, so we brought on two strikers and went to a 3-5-2. In the end, we were better covered and created some chances with crosses and recoveries.”

And, on whether Juventus could play with two strikers up front more in the future, Tudor said: “I’ll think about it, because I have to find out whatever is best for the team, and what works for me. I have to adapt to the players, but I also have to do things that make sense to me. I like coaching, not just changing system.”

Two further changes to the Champions League

The first of those two changes relates to the ‘Unify’ streaming platform suggested by The Superleague. It would provide a free streaming platform that would broadcast games globally. This would include a free version with more adverts, and a paid version without them. Money would then be made via advertising, and it would end the current TV deal format as we know it.

The other proposal relates to the format. Their idea is to divide the current 36-team league format into two groups of 18. The best-qualified group (according to UEFA ranking) of 18 would play each other in eight games, with the top eight qualifying for the Round of 16. The second eight in ‘Group 1’ would then play the top eight from ‘Group 2’, consisting of the teams ranked 19th to 36th.

Ange Postecoglou remained defiant as Nottingham Forest fans called for him to be sacked after barely three weeks in charge.

A damaging 3-2 Europa League defeat by Midtjylland means Postecoglou is winless in his opening six games in charge of Forest.

He has become the first permanent Forest manager for 100 years to fail to win any of his first six matches.

After Valdemar Byskov scored the visitors' late third goal at the City Ground, many Forest supporters chanted "You're getting sacked in the morning" towards the former Tottenham boss.

"The fans are disappointed. They are allowed to have an opinion on it. I heard their opinion," said a downcast Postecoglou, who was also jeered as he walked down the tunnel at full-time.

"Nothing surprises me in football. It's the climate we're in. It seems that's the way things are going. It's nothing I can control."

It was just over four months ago when Postecoglou was lifting this competition's trophy with Spurs, but he was dismissed 16 days later, paying the price for a dire domestic campaign. Now he is struggling to get results right at another club.

Enter the Trionda, Adidas' official match ball for the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Like previous World Cup balls, it looks the part, the name and design are a reflection of the region that will host the 48-team tournament. "Tri" stands for the three host nations, represented by three colors – blue for the U.S., red for Canada and green for Mexico – while its curved pattern is a nod to "onda," the Spanish word for wave or vibe. The Trionda's most unique aspects, though, lie in the invisible elements and its years-long journey to the ball's unveiling on Thursday at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Adidas first tested the Trionda's ability to perform at different humidity levels in a controlled space before taking it on the road to seven of the 16 World Cup host cities. There, players from the likes of MLS' Vancouver Whitecaps and Liga MX's Tigres got to try the product themselves as part of the brand's testing process.

Like its predecessor Al Rihla, the official match ball for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Trionda will also have a chip powered by AI, though a few elements are different. The chip will now be lodged in the side of the ball rather than its more central placement four years earlier, its Ai-powered system designed to provide several real-time insights and data for the future. The expectation is that the system will allow referees to make more accurate – and faster – decisions, while the takeaways from the 2026 World Cup will help inform Adidas on their next innovations. The game's tactical evolution over the years makes previous match balls feel out of date at the feet of modern-day professionals, so Adidas pays just as much attention to those statistics as coaches and analysts as they prepare for what's next.

The Trionda, for instance, is stitched together from four fluid panels while Al Rihla was comprised of 20 geometric panels, a change that plays a much bigger role than aesthetics.

The ultimate trials, though, will come in the weeks and months before the World Cup. Some competitions will have access to the Trionda fairly early depending on the nature of their contracts, while national teams competing at the World Cup will have the chance to work with the ball – at least during training sessions – three to four months before next summer's tournament. Time will tell which of its predecessors the Trionda will follow – the ones that became the story or the ones that truly represented soccer's inherent simplicity, serving as an essential but silent participant in the show.

With a grimace on his face, he waved towards the bench to suggest he was in discomfort following a slight touch from his opposing skipper Artur Jedrzejczyk when the pair chased the ball towards the corner flag.

While Yavru indicated he was suffering from cramp as the game entered injury time at the end of the second half, Jedrzejczyk took matters into his own hands.

He proceeded to grab Yavru’s legs and tried to drag him off the pitch so that the game could restart. "That’s not really very wise," said TNT Sports commentator Flo Pollock.

His attempt to drag Yavru off the pitch failed, and the incident quickly sparked a group of players to surround the pair with the two teams clashing, before the referee could take hold of the situation.

“I know that in life, there are steps you need to take to grow. The way I spoke and behaved three or four years ago made me seem more superficial. I didn’t have experience and today I feel more mature.

“Everyone has regrets. On the one hand, I think that if I’ve reached this point, it’s because it was meant to happen this way,” Zaniolo continued.

“On the other hand, I know that in my career I’ve made a lot of mistakes also due to the excessive media exposure I received from the very beginning and the pressure I had to endure. Being on everyone’s lips at 18, in a city like Rome, isn’t easy. I’d challenge anyone not to get carried away. I was wrong to think too highly of myself. Many mistakes came from that. Now I recognise them, and if I could go back, I wouldn’t make them again.”

Zaniolo left Roma in the 2023 winter transfer window to join Galatasaray. He then played for Aston Villa, Atalanta and Fiorentina on loan, but failed to match expectations.

“Maybe from the outside, it wasn’t perceived how much I suffered when I had to leave Roma,” he claimed.

“It was and still is a club I love. I had a wonderful time there, and it was hard to part ways with the fans, the club and the people. Maybe I didn’t show it, because I prefer to keep things inside.”

The 26-year-old made his last Italy appearance in 2024 in a friendly against Ecuador, but aims to return to the Azzurri squad under new coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Uruguay international has made 122 appearances for the club since joining from Juventus in 2022.

The 28-year-old started as Spurs ended their 17-year trophy drought by beating Manchester United in the Europa League final last season.

Tottenham did not specify the length of Bentancur's new deal, referring to it instead as "long-term".

"I feel really good and I'm very happy to continue my story with this fantastic club," he said.

"We have a new head coach, a new captain and I want to enjoy many more years at the club."

Bentancur joined the club under Antonio Conte but the Italian only lasted another 14 months in north London before he was sacked.

The increased number of competitive games in recent years means some players take part in as many as 60 or 70 games a season, which not only hampers players' ability to compete during the club season but can impact their performances with their national teams during major competitions. Henry said he did not play as many games as players do now but even he dealt with the wear and tear of a long season during his playing career.

"I've been in that situation, maybe not the number [of games] that those guys are reaching right now. I used to arrive in tournaments dead – mentally, physically," Henry said said during the UEFA Champions League Today pre-match show on Wednesday. "2002 [World Cup], I arrived injured. [Euro] 2004, I arrived injured. [Euro] 2008, I arrived injured. I just arrived there to play. I couldn't prepare. You don't prepare [for] a competition. "

"For me, it's pretty simple," he said. "It's not about complaining and it's not about saying players earn too much money or debating. It's about having an educational discussion with the players' union – a proper one, not with the ex-players. Don't call me, UEFA. Do not call me, FIFA. I'm not playing anymore. I don't know how it feels anymore. I know how it felt, I don't know how it feels anymore so speak to [Virgil] van Dijk, speak to Mo Salah. … Sit with them. Have a discussion with them. They are the actors right now."

"UEFA adding the Nations League – it wasn't needed," Carrager said. "FIFA adding the Club World Cup was not needed. Nobody is out there asking for those competitions. They're just providing them to make more money and that's it. We know why there is more games."

Henry added that he barely watched the Club World Cup.

“Kevin, compared to the other signings, comes from a different reality. He spent years at City and played at the very highest level,” the coach said.

“I have nothing to say to him, he’s a very good lad and he works hard. I understand his desire to play, but there are also substitutions. I want to win and if I make them, it’s with the intention of improving the team.

“Then it’s normal that in the media they are discussed depending on the results – the important thing is that everyone gives their all for the team.”

“We have two paths.

“Either we continue on this path with four midfielders, as I think we should because we have great room for improvement, or we can play with a 4-3-3 as we did at the end of the game tonight, perhaps alternating between a more physical midfield and a more technical one in which De Bruyne can play as a mezzala. The important thing is that everyone sacrifices themselves in both phases.”

“To me, the performance in Milan didn’t displease me at all,” Conte said, “but the two goals came from situations where we could have done better. We’ve talked about how to improve. When it comes to the negative aspects, you have to be constructive and try to work on them.”

“Today I see a very mature team in terms of game management. But we mustn’t lose the characteristics we had, the aggression and the fear, because healthy fear makes you run back. We try to push forward, but when we get bypassed, we must immediately recover.”

“The first half we played much better than the second. We conceded too much because we were tired. The truth is that PSG are a great team, they have very young and very fast players and they played a fantastic game. We didn’t play at our best level and against an opponent like that when it’s necessary. They deserved the victory.

“Of course we are disappointed. When you defend at 1-1, you have to play more intelligently at the end of the game and this has not happened. In transition, they have marked us. We have to be more structured and cover all spaces. You have to hold out for 90 minutes, the whole team has to defend, attack, be at a high level with the ball, take advantage of spaces, participate in possession. At PSG you saw that everyone knows how to take advantage of spaces, they want the ball… these are things to learn and improve.”

Multiple sources in Italy claim that Daniele De Rossi has reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Roma, while Torino and Serie B side Monza emerge as possible destinations for the former Italy international.

Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi has spoke on his “great milestone” of reaching 250 appearances for Lazio, ahead of tonight’s trip to Genoa.

The Biancocelesti midfielder reflected on a difficult week after last weekend’s loss to Roma:

“It hasn’t been a week like the others, losing the derby always hurts but we have to get back on track,” he told DAZN via TuttoMercatoWeb.

On his appearances milestone, the Italian admitted “It’s a great milestone. One of my goals has always been to spend many years here, you know what I feel for Lazio,” he said. “All together we have to get through this moment, results cloud many people’s opinions. Tonight we have to show that we are players worthy of Lazio.”

Former Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has been accused of fraud due to irregularities found in the club’s payment of transfers during his tenure. He has been called to give evidence by a court in Barcelona on the matter.

That is according to Cadena SER, who say that the investigating magistrate has called Bartomeu to explain said irregularities. The legal case was opened by current Barcelona President and Bartomeu’s successor, Joan Laporta, evidence of the fierce political divide that exists at the club.

Three transfers have raised suspicions

The current board say that some deals included commissions of 33%, and that certain businesses were founded solely to bill the club. The most egregious commission appears to have occurred in the €40m deal to take Malcom from Bordeaux to the club, who then paid a commission of €10m on the deal. That contract allegedly was signed ‘some time after’ the signing was sealed.

Laporta’s complaint goes on to allege that there was a consistent and methodical approach to avoiding financial controls, and that an ‘illegitimate payment’ of €15m was made to Atletico Madrid. This was allegedly to avoid Atletico taking the Blaugrana to court over their approach for Griezmann.

Valencia and Real Oviedo were due to lock horns on Monday night to close out La Liga’s Matchday 7 slate, but the two sides will have to find an alternate date to play the match at Mestalla after it was postponed on Monday. Weather warnings in the area meant that going ahead with the game was a safety risk.

There were red weather warnings in place on Sunday night, but with no word from La Liga, Real Oviedo traveled down to the East Coast on Monday in case the game were to go ahead. At around 16:00 local time, just five hours before kick-off, La Liga confirmed the game would not be going ahead due to the red weather alert in the region. The heavy rains and storms expected represented a potential flood risk, and could compromise the safety of the fans.

However La Liga did reveal that the game may still go ahead the next day. As long as the safety of all those attending and participating in the game was guaranteed, and following the recommendations of the local weather authority, should the adverse conditions clear up sufficiently, then it will go ahead on Tuesday. The kick-off time would be brought forward an hour to 20:00 CEST.

"Honestly, I would prefer to play, just to speak about London, against Arsenal, Fulham or West Ham," he told TNT Sports. "Not Chelsea if I could choose.

"It's not something that gives me an incredible pleasure, but I block my emotions and tomorrow I’m just going to do my job the best I can, and my job is to try to help my team.

"I’m always motivated in every match, it doesn’t matter the opponent. Maybe now is a bit different, maybe tomorrow after the match is a bit different. But during the match, I don't think I'm going to have any kind of emotion in relation to that."
