The Chinese tech giant Hisense has added a new smartphone to its lineup, even though it's rather new variant than a completely new model. Specifically, the Hisense A9 was launched back in 2022 and is now launching in a new version. The Hisense A9 will now be offered with 8GB of memory and spacious 256GB of internal storage, while the original smartphone came with just 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The new Hisense smartphone is priced around $420 and is expected to be available in a few days, but only on the Chinese market.

Pixelfed is now available as a mobile apps for both iOS and Android. The open source, decentralized platform offers image sharing similar to Instagram. However, Pixelfed has no advertisements and does not share user data with third parties.

The AirTag is the gold standard, but Google had eight months to fix its bad network. It's still not fixed.

Poco X7 Pro review (www.gsmarena.com)

First the bugs:

  • Trying to edit the top tabs such as rename or rearrange seems to do absolutely nothing, although the changes that you make in settings seem to stick.

  • Changing the default server for the 'Anonymous' account also seems to do nothing. Once again, the setting does stick though.

Observations / suggestion:

I notice that there is a placeholder for 'multicommunities'. And I think I came across one or two other things that are placeholders / leftovers from Infinity. So it's all good, everything from app to the platform itself is WiP.

My suggestion is that for now, while we can't create or add multicommunities and have a bit of variety in our feeds, what about being able to add the local feeds of other instances? So that regardless of which instance I'm signed up in, I can have my Subscribed, Local, All tabs, as well as for eg. a 'World' tab, 'Blåhaj' tab etc. Is this something even remotely possible? Don't think I've seen other apps with this idea either.

Does anyone know where I could find comparisons of the various Lemmy clients available? I'd like to see something contrasting things like app maturity, features available, update release frequency, and etc?

I'm looking to try out some of the more mature clients since the one I'm using (Boost) has been exhibiting some problems for me recently. I wanted to narrow down the cause of the problem and will be trying other clients to make sure my instance isn't the issue. I'm writing this from Eternity (Nightly).

What the title says. Like 75% of the preview pics don't show up. Anyone know why that is?
