Anyone that was around while Reddit was growing will remember that there were few subreddits to begin with. I think fediverse needs that to happen before expanding.

I don’t know how to fix it. Maybe sub-feddits need to be pruned if they aren’t thriving. Maybe tags in titles would be more helpful until they have enough content to warrant their on category.

Would it heat up the oceans: yes.

Significantly:no.

If this pans out it would be a lot better than what we are doing now.

“Tweet” is now up for grabs. All similar platforms should call them tweets.

Why keep such an accomplishment secret?

I don’t have a cable/standard tv service. It looks like YouTube has a standalone package for $400 (!) I’m mostly interested in regular season games and follow whatever my fantasy football player teams are playing, so they aren’t usually broadcast in my area over the air.

Outside of villainous piracy what would be the best option?

This happens a LOT more often than you think. I worked with a well-connected person that killed a dude while she was drunk driving. She was not in jail at any point.

Because it’s a small island country and there’s no need for cars. Public transit there is intense. Automated light rail between communities connect to subways that connect to everything. Their buses are great too.

The cost to drive on the road is probably about the same as the cost to buy one.

About 10 years ago a Chevy Malibu had a sticker price of $120k USD, which included registration for 10 years.

If you recall reddits growth many of their communities evolved as offshoots of a single generic community. This made it easier for people to see discussions they normally would not get involved in, and once the posts in a similar category reached critical mass it moved to a sub Reddit.

I think people are recreating their niche communities here but they are floundering since the user base is still pretty small. Maybe it’s best to post to the “big” communities until the time is right to move to smaller, targeted communities?

A significant amount of trade skill knowledge and examples are tied up in YouTube. Does anyone remember building a deck before YT? You would go to the library, make copies of books or magazines that had a general idea on how to do it, then you would try to do it yourself and things would go wrong constantly.

There’s a lot of this type of stuff that would simply be lost. It’s not unusual to find videos from 15 years ago that are still relevant today.

Parks require maintenance that’s paid with tax dollars. They go to shit really fast without it.

I don’t think this needs to be profitable but there are real costs that need to be covered somehow, and it’s not going to be taxes.
