Liftoff is by far my favorite, though that's android only I believe

[-] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 4 points 10 months ago

Not anymore, both liftoff and thunder are now on both iOS and Android.

[-] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I've tried so many, and Liftoff is my favorite too.

[-] xooolooov@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

liftoff is pretty cool. in fact you can "subscribe" instances is really cool

Thanks for telling me about Voyager, I feel like I finally found the app for me!

[-] farsightxr20@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Sync for Lemmy. Tried Liftoff before Sync was available, and it just wasn't comparable to my Reddit experience. Sync just feels so great to use.

[-] refurbishedrefurbisher@lemmy.sdf.org 14 points 10 months ago

Infinity for Lemmy is great

[-] morethanevil@lmy.mymte.de 12 points 10 months ago

I tried Arctius, it looks good but misses a few features. Maybe I give it another try in the future.

I use Liftoff, it is good but the design is a little bit boring, but Liftoff is very useable as a daily driver and works fine.

I discovered Connect yesterday, it is a good match if you want a good design and features. It has a new post button like Liftoff. I like this. Connect seems to be a good match for me.

Voyager was not my case, did not like it. Tastes are different. Same for Sync

For Mastodon, I use Moshidon. I like it very much

[-] Bingo@feddit.de 10 points 10 months ago

I really like Infinity for Lemmy! But Voyager's impressive too

[-] CaptainEffort@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago

I’ve been switching between Voyager and Memmy. Both are really good!

[-] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 10 months ago

On the web I really like alexandrite. It makes good use of a wide display and I really like being able to favorite communities so it's easy to remember the ones I want to visit regularly.

[-] danielton@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I honestly never had an issue with the default desktop site, but damn, when you have an open ecosystem, we get cool things like Alexandrite, Photon, and mlmym!

Alexandrite seems like what New Reddit was going for but failed miserably at. I like it.

I really like thunder at the moment but voyager is a beautiful app

[-] Odo@lemm.ee 7 points 10 months ago

I cycle between Thunder, Summit and Sync, they all have similar vibes.

[-] russjr08@outpost.zeuslink.net 3 points 10 months ago

Same line up of clients that I use, though I do toss in Connect every now and then just to check on how its doing. It's been super exciting to see the Lemmy mobile app ecosystem progress thus far!

I like Thunder too because it has a beautiful and unique UI, unlike the rest that just look like different variations of the same layout, such as Mlem, Memmy, and Voyager.

Voyager is amazing and it's my main for Lemmy, but I don't have any issues with the official Mastodon app. Is there something the other Mastodon apps do that the official one doesn't?

[-] EdherJr@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 months ago

The official Mastodon app doesn't support following hashtags, for some reason (the Mastodon website does, but the app doesn't)

[-] danielton@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I haven't had an issue with following hashtags with the official app. I can even get a list of hashtags I'm following.

I'm using Megalodon for Mastodon. I still can't decide what to use for Lemmy.

[-] Javish@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Voyager's been my favorite lately but today I installed Avelon and I'm LOVING it.

With a few minor tweaks it'll take the lead.

[-] Hwoods@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

Yeah, I’m enjoying Avelon a ton.

[-] TheloniusFuegoRhymes@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Just installed it and wow it’s smooth! I may need to get used to the comment section font though. I’ve tried a few apps that haven’t taken me from Voyager, but this one might

[-] Q320@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

I really like Ice Cubes for mastodon. And for Lemmy I’be been working on my own client for a few weeks now called Gravity, feel free to check it out on TestFlight.

On android: Artemis, Connect and Infinity for Lemmy; Moshidon for Mastodon

[-] Nioxic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

Connect

connect is a great lemmy app!

[-] lemmy@weloveautomation.xyz 5 points 10 months ago

Another appreciation to voyager. Visually feels like we never left the place that shall not be spoken.

For mastodon ivory sucked me into their paid model. The app is just so nice but long term don’t like the idea of paying monthly for an app that I don’t use a lot. Need to find an alternative on iOS

[-] Gowens@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

I really like Ice Cubes for Mastodon. Give that one a look if you haven’t.

For Lemmy, I primarily use Photon and have contributed a little bit to the project.

[-] pacogens@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I use photon for the web too! Love the UI.

[-] XpeeN@sopuli.xyz 4 points 10 months ago

For mobile I use liftoff. The real question is, what are you guys using on PC?

[-] Polar@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

lemmy.ca and mstdn.ca

Why do you need an app on PC?

[-] AzuleBlade@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

Have you tried out Firefish? It's another micro-blogging site like Mastodon, but the UI looks better in my opinion. You can follow Mastodon users on there and a bunch of other Fediverse content as well. They're still working on an official app, but the PWA works quite nicely.

Because I don't like the way photos and media in general shows at the default frontend. I use wefwef (can't remember the new name) on PC for now. I like the to see the media big sized on my feed, and that gift autoplays.

[-] kueckieben@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 10 months ago

The new name is Voyager.

mastodon.el is great if you are an Emacs user, works very well and you have all the usual Emacs conveniences on hand.
For Lemmy so far I am sticking with the default web UI and Jerboa. Tried some other alternatives but I keep coming back to these.

[-] Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

I use Megalodon for Mastodon and Sync for Lemmy.

[-] Zink@programming.dev 4 points 10 months ago

I am using the iOS App Store version of Voyager, and it is excellent as well. It finally displaced Memmy for me, which is also a good one to try.

[-] lom@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

Thank you for moshidon! I've been using Megalodon but this seems a bit better

[-] orangeNgreen@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I’ve really been enjoying Bean for Lemmy. It recently made its way into the App Store. And I’ve been using Mammoth for Mastodon.

[-] Jackolantern@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Try also Avelon. But for iOS only. It’s really nice.

[-] BearPear@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I really like Jerboa and Thunder.

Voyager is also great.

[-] mr_MADAFAKA@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

For Lemmy sync and voyager, for mastodon I use elk.zone for both desktop and mobile

[-] skymtf@pricefield.org 3 points 10 months ago

I link infinity for Lemmy tbh, its kinda buggy right now when I want to post but other than that its fine.
