There are lots of good FOSS options.

I would strongly recommend checking this site for the trackers in an app if you're at all concerned about privacy. Links to each app's exodus privacy report is also at the end of the table linked above.

FYI, Nova has been owned by a data mining company for many years and it is worth moving away from even if you think it is good enough now and doesn't need updates.

Hi, first of all thank you for all the work you put into photon! I really love the interface and have been using it for many months now.

Today, I noticed that the Favorites folder disappeared, and I was wondering if this was intentional or a bug.

For what it's worth, I will mention that personally, I am a huge fan of ways that help customise our feed - consequently, I loved this folder.

No matter what, thank you for all the work on beautiful photon!

I learnt about markdown from reddit and got to know more suff like ![img]() after joining Lemmy. Found Markor from a thread here or there.
Recently learnt about some features:

And a cool thing is that it supports rendering .html files(considering how Firefox doesn't show up in the list of apps capable of opening them). Was trying out Javascript bookmarklets and created an html file(with the js code in it) to make edits and try out stuff.

Making this post so that others can know of these features. I had Markor installed for more than a year, before I recently read their news.md and noticed these features.

Do you know of any other features or apps that'd be useful for more people to know of?

anybody else noticing some pages hang loading for ages on mobile?

Using Fennec F-Droid, some pages the progress bar hits 25% and then hangs for an amount of time between a couple minutes to forever. Usually the same page will always hang around the same time, but trying hours or days later it might work. Sometimes the page loads after a couple minutes, but if it doesn't, I can come back hours later and the progress bar is still at 25% for that tab. Killing the app doesn't seem to make a difference. I do use Ublock origin and one other extension to redirect reddit links to old.reddit.com. Haven't started disabling extensions yet, I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this on Android.

EDIT: Finished! Piefed support is live on phtn.app.

I took a different approach while implementing it this time and it will be a lot more sustainable.

So far I have most read operations done, but there's a few missing write operations (like saving comments and reports)

I'm definitely planning to support Piefed specific features like multi-communities and user flairs.

Otherwise it should be mostly usable right now.
