I had to buy my dad a work "flash-light" (he's a mechanic) as a present so bought this one and we're really happy with it, battery lasts for a long time and the whole light seems well built.

It's called Scangrip SLIM.

https://www.scangrip.com/en-gb/shop/work-light-range/handlamps/03-6211-slim EU company (Denmark), manufactures in China, 5 year warranty and has replacement parts.

The listing is 97 eur but I got it for 55 eur at my local shop.

Now it's 65 eur, they should be able to ship within the EU, but you should double-check :

We also explored Ledlenser (also EU company) one with those extra attachments but he doesn't need the attachments that much and it's a bit overpriced for what you get if you don't need them. Just putting this out there since some folks might find it useful and come across it while re-searching.

If you guys have any other companies or experience with these types of lights / flashlights please share.

European Union finance ministers agreed on Friday to set a 3 euro ($3.52) customs duty on low-value parcels arriving in the bloc, part of efforts to crack down on cheap Chinese e-commerce imports such as from online retailers Shein and Temu.

The duty will apply from July 1, 2026, and will be in place until a permanent solution is found to eliminate the "de minimis" duties exemption for online purchases below 150 euros, the EU's Council of its 27 governments said in a statement.

...

The bloc was due to remove the exemption in 2028 as part of an overhaul of its customs system, but pressure to act faster has grown amid concerns about Chinese goods being dumped in Europe.

...

The number of low-value e-commerce packages arriving in the bloc doubled last year to 4.6 billion, over 90% of them from China. Imports this year are set to be even higher.

The EU is also considering a separate handling fee, which the European Commission has proposed should be set at 2 euros per parcel. It is not clear when it would be imposed.

The stricter guidelines are part of the EUโ€™s work to protect its economy as Europe grapples with US President Donald Trumpโ€™s tariff war and Chinaโ€™s restrictions on the critical materials that fuel industrial production.

Earlier this month, the EU issued its first economic security doctrine, which stressed that the bloc must ensure inbound investments donโ€™t expose critical sectors to hostile ownership. It also insisted such investments should bring added value to the EU and not hollow out the blocโ€™s technological edge.

The new screening rules update a mechanism first implemented in 2020. They set a minimum scope for review that includes so-called dual-use items, which can have civilian and military uses. The scope also covers military equipment and critical technologies such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors.

Additionally, the scope includes critical entities in energy, transport and digital infrastructure, electoral infrastructure, and some financial entities, such as central securities depositories.
