I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to investing, so I’m hoping for some guidance. A few months ago, I switched my RRSP to RBC InvestEase and selected the socially responsible portfolio because I wanted my investments to better reflect my values. Recently, I started receiving letters from iShares (BlackRock) thanking me for my investment. I didn’t realize that my money would be going through BlackRock, and I’m not comfortable with that. What are my options if I want my RRSP to: Be managed by a Canadian company Invest primarily or exclusively in Canadian organizations Follow socially responsible investing principles Is this something I can request through RBC, or would I need to move my RRSP elsewhere? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Based in BC, they sell yogurt.
I'm not sure they sell in supermarkets, but maybe other small businesses can supply their products.
I found their Yogurt Drink in a Kebab place.

Hey all,

I have a bit of a conundrum here. When I start my morning, I like making a smoothie or fruit slush, really depends on if I have oat milk available in the fridge at the end of the day.

I usually have frozen strawberries as my go to for this. However, I don't know if they grow here or not because whenever I go to the store, the frozen ones are never a product of Canada. I want to put a stronger focus on spending my money on products that are a product of Canada so that my money stays here and has more of an impact locally, but usually the only frozen fruit I can find readily available from here are blueberries.

I have a weird hatred of blueberries. I hate them raw because to me they taste like nothing, and the texture combined with the lack of flavour feels gross, but I also tend to dislike them in my smoothies and slushes because they never seem to blend as well as strawberries do, often leaving a grainy texture I can't ignore. I only ever seem to enjoy them when baked into things like pies or muffins.

Not to force myself to have something I dislike, but I don't want to give up trying to make them enjoyable and give them the fair chance they deserve. Aside from baking them into things, what are some ways I can attempt to make blueberries more palatable?

Also is there a way I can get them to blend as smoothly as strawberries do for my slushes and smoothies?

I am looking for a canadian web retailer for lamp and lighting components. Only for my personal enjoyment, not a business.

American examples would be: https://grandbrass.com/, https://antiquelampsupply.com/

There is some availability at big box hardware stores. They have about 5% the selection of a specialized retailer.

The only one I can find is https://www.thelightingguyontario.com/ which has a $200 minimum purchase. That's way more than I need.

Other than that, I only find LED vendors and high end decor places.

Is there a Canadian alternative to 3-in-1 oil? I am looking for a thin, protecting lubricant for my small tools.

What are some good Canadian-owned retailers to buy electronics, electronic components, and computer accessories from?

I'm talking about things like USB hubs and peripherals, monitors, cabling, and electronic components like you used to be able to get at the Radio Shack of yore. For audio stuff, I go to Long & McQuade, but non-audio? shrug

Ideally, this would be a brick-and-mortar place in the GTA (but outside Toronto proper) but online would be great, too.

I learned about this one recently. From their site:

Worktree provides an end-to-end Git, DevOps, and Cloud platform. Create Git repositories to store and collaborate on source code, build and test with Actions workflows, and deploy to Worktree Cloud.

A Complete Platform

  • Unlimited public and private repos
  • Suitable for OSS and commercial projects
  • GitHub-compatible Actions platform
  • Static Site hosting
  • Public package registries
  • Full PaaS Cloud (Coming Soon)

More than just a Git remote

Based on the open source Gitea project, Worktree Code is a full-featured and competitive code collaboration platform suitable for both open source and commercial projects. Open and review pull requests, publish releases and artifacts, publish container images and packages, and track issues and your time spent fixing them.

Utilize the largest CI ecosystem

Worktree Actions is compatible with the majority of the existing GitHub Actions ecosystem, with most workflows only requiring minor tweaks to run on Worktree. Leaving GitHub doesn't mean leaving your CI behind.

A new sovereign cloud

Once you've built your software, where do you run it? Canadian cloud options are overwhelmingly foreign-owned, and we're on a mission to change that.

Read more on our blog about how we're building a new Canadian cloud platform from scratch.

There are a few Canada specific Social Media platforms coming up as well. EH Social and Monnett.Social are topping the list.

I hope this can help you or others make the switch to support a local business 💪

The game was being directed by Aaron "Noxy" Donaghey of Hypixel Studios, a Canadian-Irish indie game studio of over forty employees who split off from Hypixel Inc., the company behind the Hypixel server in Minecraft.

Just wanted to share. I've been playing this game and was pleasantly surprised to find this out from their wiki page

I like courses for online learning and wanted to learn how to use Godot to make games. If anyone knows a platform, or a tutor who might be able to teach a guy during the evening on weeknights (Japan time), that would be greatly appreciated!
