I always felt like they did a pretty poor job of making the audience feel any significant level of sympathy for the Maquis (assuming that was the goal).

AudiobookShelf is great. One of the most polished self hosted apps out there and has a lot of great features that are lesser known (like converting to m4a)

The meme is 2/10 but this comment is 10/10

I love that someone asked you to leave them alone, you were like "actually no means yes", and you view violating consent as "not taking it up the ass".

Sir this is a website

No, but statistically speaking it goes bear > star trek fan > star wars fan > Lemmy user

I think you're right but I also have to imagine the old. users are disproportionately contributing quality parts and replies to the niche communities that make reddit "sticky".

I'm ok if reddit keeps the users that want an endless feed of memes and low effort content.

There's a contingent of threadiverse users who interpret "anti censorship" to mean "all speech should be permitted, even against other's consent" and view any stifling of that to be immoral.

My take is that if platforms permit the loudest voices to overwhelm others, you just have censorship of a different flavor. Piefed is taking an interesting approach to that problem and I think it's interesting to watch!

I remember this episode it is the one where riker just learned to make banana splits

I've watched this before, it's one of my favorites. Great selection of pieces and it flows really well. I would love to see something similar in person one day.

This is just more "if a company isn't growing faster than the S&P500 it's literally dying" logic.

I have no love for Zuck or Meta but if reality means anything then their stock price is still ridiculously inflated.

True actually it can get quite hectic 😅

Star Trek got a nice shout out in the first episode too!
