Yea honestly the situations you are describing are some of the more common use cases that can be actually helpful. I am sure it can do some impressive things, though I can’t say I have seen great evidence of it (where it can do impressive things are probably fields I don’t understand). I also think it’s weird to call people luddites over this. Like yea, if we have communism and it’s used for good, sure why not. As it stands now though, to me it reads like “How we can use the torture nexus for good assuming it doesn’t kill all of us” which doesn’t inspire me.

There is nothing more horrifying to these people than their children not fitting whatever model they have in mind for them. If a vaccine could make the child autistic (it doesn’t) better the child die than get it. If trans care will make the child into something I do not understand, better they not receive the care and suffer. Learning is bad, accepting different things is bad, my child is my slave they have no rights (when they are an adult they must be totally self reliant though).
