I never understood men who demonize women who seek out rich men. ’Gold digging’ is just a consequence of living in a misogynistic, crumbling economy where everyone is constantly in survival mode. Russian mail order brides became a thing after the fall of the USSR because the new neoliberal government offered no viable alternatives to women.
They only demonize it if the woman doesn't act like they want her to. They think that if they've got money, the women should be 'grateful' to be with the man. It's disgusting.
