This is from WSU in '04, and I'm willing to bet that these lovelies have been busy in those 23yrs between. 🥰

FWIW, I've called the PacNW home for longer than that, and have always enjoyed discovering mantids each summer.

Crazy; I had one land on me just last weekend; first one I’ve ever seen in the lower mainland. I had been wondering if perhaps it was someone’s escaped pet.

Unless we’re neighbours, it sounds like this is more than that.

Quite far out of it's range I think (limited presence?). Maybe an escaped/abandoned pet. Will likely die once it gets colder.
